A New Prime Minister in Iraq? |
As humanitarian drops and U.S. strikes on ISIS targets continue in Iraq, there are some big changes happening in Baghdad. Haider al-Abadi has been nominated to replace embattled Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki, though the latter appears unwilling to give up his position. Maliki, who has been seen as unable (or unwilling) to form an administration that governs across sectarian lines, has instead accused Iraq’s president of violating the constitution. Still an Uptown Girl Billy Joel was performing at Madison Square Garden last week, when he spotted a familiar face in the crowd. Christie Brinkley, once married to Joel, was taking in the concert. Joel dedicated a performance of “Uptown Girl” to his ex-wife, who later took to Instagram to declare that Joel, whom she described as a “national treasure,” has “still got it.”

Turmoil at Meet the Press It’s a story with way too many men with two first names: Mike Allen reports that Chuck Todd is set to replace David Gregory as the host ofMeet the Press. Gregory’s tenure with the program has been one of tumbling ratings and rumors of his impending departure. If NBC has any plans to oust him, however, they’re keeping them close to the chest.
