Gabrielle Union Designs T-Shirts, wanting Women to get involved in the upcoming elections | @BET

By Dorkys Ramos

Gabrielle Union has partnered up with Planned Parenthood to design a T-shirt that will bring attention to the organization's Women Are Watching campaign. With the November elections approaching, the initiative hopes to stir up its female base to become aware and critical of the issues at stake and what each candidate is bringing to the platform.
"It's hard to believe we're still living in a time when some politicians believe they should make decisions for women about birth control and basic health care. That's why I'm always proud to support Planned Parenthood Action Fund's efforts to engage women around critical issues in the upcoming election through their Women Are Watching campaign. We have to vote like our access to birth control and basic health care is on the line this year — because it is," Union said in a press release.
In support of the campaign, Union designed a blue shirt that reads, "My Birth Control. My Decision" across the front. On the back it reads, "Women Are Watching." Union's signature is included on the right sleeve.
Union has been involved with Planned Parenthood since 2012, when she became a spokesperson for the organization's breast health initiative, and launched the Women Are Watching campaign that same year with a group of other actresses. This year, she's teaming up with Scarlett Johansson and Orange Is the New Black's Natasha Lyonne and Selenis Leyva, all of whom will be releasing T-shirts of their own.
