The London Lions of the British Basketball League (BBL) participated in the 2014 Global Basketball Summer League by having a summer team in the event that provided a unique scouting opportunity for the club. As a result, the Lions signed (3) high quality players from the event that will boost their chances of winning the 2015 BBL Championship. The London Lions are one of the premiere teams in the BBL and play in the Cooper Box, a 7,500-seat arena and former 2012 Olympic Games venue that is considered one of the best sports entertainment facilities in the United Kingdom.

Meet Lovell Cook

The Lions ambitious plan to become a top flight team in Europe was the sole reason that their Head Coach & CEO Vince MaCaulay- Razaq decided travel to the Mecca of Summer Basketball (Las Vegas) to network and recruit. The Lions signed the former University of New Orleans star Lovell Cook, who is an exceptional talent that has the game, skills and ability to play at a high level in Europe. Lovell Cook is the former two-time CollegeSportsMadness.com Independent Player of the Week and averaged 14.2 points, 3.2 rebounds on 54 percent shooting from the field during his senior year. Lovell averaged 24ppg at the GBSL and shot over 56% from the field. Lovell has a terrific jump shot and his ball handling and ability to create off the dribble is pro like. His size and skill level separated him from the other players at the GBSL.
